...Never dull - as always a total pleasure to read.

I'm quite envious of your Faversham trip - Dickens is my favourite author but I've never really visited his haunts. Which is your most enjoyable book? I'd have to go David Copperfield - for the best ever descriptions of being around three and bored in church and also drunk (not at the same time, obviously..)
And thank you so much for visiting my blog - I am honoured!LittleGreenFingershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16993886086382843621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6849167564811493528.post-12686506218886090652009-08-06T11:04:35.228+01:002009-08-06T11:04:35.228+01:00I find brightly packed gardens quite difficult but...I find brightly packed gardens quite difficult but enjoyed the tour, non the less. On the other hand, the little boat with the reeds growing in (through?) it - I found that very affecting.

Your last year's note is helpful too. My espaliered apple has very little fruit this year. (Last year was the best it has had yet.) I've been wanting to trim it back because it is reaching out over the path but was worrying this would be too early and would encourage even more leaf growth - now I know I can do it!

I'd come over to let you know I'd put a link on Esther's Boring Garden Blog to a Gardeners' Question Time discussion on olive trees in which you took part and thought I would let you know in case you wanted to say anything there.

The link for the particular post is

http://esthersboringgardenblog.blogspot.com/2009/08/olives-and-ozymandias.html

EstherEsther Montgomeryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05412078991551799972noreply@blogger.com
